El Ordeño – TRÜ: A model that transforms, nourishes, and transcends

Sep 17, 2025 | Allies, Coworking

At El Ordeño, we have made history by becoming the first Certified B Corporation dairy company in Ecuador, Latin America, and the Caribbean.

This proves that it is possible to be a company that creates well-being for people and the planet. Our inclusive and associative business model breaks with tradition: it promotes fair trade without intermediaries, drives the local economy with real opportunities for growth, and places people at the center of everything.

In this way, we impact more than 6,000 small and medium-sized producers across more than 100 collection centers located in the highlands and the Amazon region of the country.

Sixty percent of our value chain is made up of women who transform their reality every day. In addition, more than 2,000 producers have strengthened their skills through our field schools, designed to enhance both their technical and personal development.

TRÜ: Sustainable food for a generation that wants to change the world

TRÜ was born in 2019, not just as a brand but as a movement of people who believe in responsible and conscious consumption to transform realities.

At El Ordeño, every product tells a story of sustainability, equity, and commitment. TRÜ embodies this purpose in a disruptive proposal for the food industry: offering nutritious products, with sustainable packaging, that foster rural development.

Food with purpose

As a B Corporation, with our commercial brand TRÜ, we have a clear mission: to awaken the awareness of a new generation of consumers and be part of a global community committed to triple impact: economic, social, and environmental.

That is why we generate well-being from the source. Through the Poverty Stoplight methodology, we have identified the needs of our producers and collaborators, which has allowed us to implement actions that improve their quality of life, while also providing ongoing training through our field schools.

All our products come in 100% recyclable packaging, made on average with more than 73% of materials from renewable sources. In the case of Tetra Pak containers, the caps are made from sugarcane bagasse, and the straws in our portion formats are biodegradable.

What does it mean to be part of IMPAQTO? An alliance to multiply change

Being part of the IMPAQTO community has meant much more than an alliance for El Ordeño – TRÜ: it has been an opportunity to share learnings and generate high-value collaboration spaces.

As IMPAQTO allies, we reaffirm our commitment to seeking real solutions, because when wills come together, impact multiplies. And within that union lies the true power to transform the world.
