ReGenera by IMPAQTO: 119 Women Empowered to Regenerate Ecosystems, Economies, and Communities in Ecuador

Oct 8, 2025 | Labs, ReGenera by IMPAQTO

In a world facing environmental, social, and economic challenges, ReGenera by IMPAQTO emerges as a transformative initiative aimed at empowering 200 migrant women and women from host communities in Ecuador, fostering enterprises that regenerate ecosystems, economies, and community bonds.

This project was made possible thanks to the support of the Hilton Global Foundation, which joins IMPAQTO in its mission to develop sustainable and equitable solutions for the most vulnerable communities.

Our purpose is clear: to pave the way for more women to lead the change our planet needs — becoming agents of transformation for their communities and the environment.

Progress in Component 1: Entrepreneur Training

So far, we have made significant progress in Component 1, focused on training and strengthening entrepreneurial capacities:

  • Pichincha: The cohort concluded on September 22, with 49 women entrepreneurs, 43% of whom are in situations of human mobility.
  • Manabí: Currently wrapping up the cohort, which will conclude on October 15, with 34 active participants, including 44% women in human mobility
  • Napo: The training process continues, with 36 entrepreneurs enhancing their skills to lead sustainable businesses.

These results reflect our commitment to including women in vulnerable situations and ensuring they have access to economic development and community leadership opportunities.

Launch of Component 2: Innovation and Regeneration

At the same time, we have launched two new initiatives under Component 2, designed to take these enterprises to the next level, focusing on sustainability and innovation:

  • Regenerative Agriculture: Launched on September 24, with 16 enterprises implementing agricultural practices that restore soils and ecosystems.
  • Gastronomic Innovation: Launched on October 2, with 16 women entrepreneurs developing innovative, sustainable, and value-added food products for their communities.

These initiatives not only promote resilient businesses but also encourage a model of circular and regenerative economy, benefiting both people and the natural environment.

Connecting with the Market: Roundtables and Interviews

To ensure that the enterprises are sustainable and aligned with market needs, we have organized roundtables in Quito, Guayaquil, and Tena, with plans to expand soon to Cuenca.

So far, we have conducted 83 interviews with representatives from the Horeca sector, exploring opportunities and needs across different cities, and strengthening the connection between women entrepreneurs and key markets.

ReGenera by IMPAQTO demonstrates that when training, inclusion, and sustainability come together, real pathways can open for women to lead meaningful change in their communities and for the planet.

This project is a testament to how collaboration between committed organizations can generate tangible and lasting impact.

Together, IMPAQTO and the Hilton Global Foundation continue to invest in a future where more women can transform their environments, economies, and lives through the power of regenerative entrepreneurship.
