The land has always witnessed our history. It carries the marks of those who work it, protect it, and understand it as a living being. But today, this land demands our attention. More than 30% of the planet’s soils are degraded, and without concrete action, this crisis will only worsen.
In this context, Tinku Uku Pacha: Soil Assembly #2 emerges as a space to reconnect with the soil and with those who, from agriculture, science, art, and the economy, are fighting for its regeneration.
Roots That Resist
The gathering will take place from May 8 to 10, 2025, in La Chimba, Cayambe, Ecuador. More than an event, it will be a tapestry of stories and experiences reminding us that the land is not just a resource, but identity, culture, and future. Inspired by Tránsito Amaguaña and her affirmation that “the land is to the people what blood is to the body,” we come together to imagine, share, and take risks in building new ways of relating to the soil.
Tinku Uku Pacha is part of Soil Assembly, an international movement for critical environmental education that held its first assembly in India in 2023. This year, Ecuador becomes the epicenter of an urgent conversation about soil life and peasant resistance.
The Power of Collaboration: IMPAQTO and Other Allies
Great transformations don’t happen alone. That’s why strategic allies like IMPAQTO play a key role in consolidating this event. Our experience in social innovation and entrepreneurship allows us to amplify impact, connect networks, and highlight regenerative solutions.
The diversity of allies, from local to international, is crucial for the assembly’s success. Every contribution adds reflections, strategies, and resources, enabling this initiative to go further and transform more lives.

What Happens When We Gather
Over three days, farmers, artists, chefs, scientists, journalists, and entrepreneurs will share experiences, learnings, and visions. In this space, science meets art, education meets resistance, and celebration meets reflection.
Topics to explore include:
- Regenerative Rural Economies: Challenges and opportunities for an economy that sustains soil and community life.
- Art and Science for Ecosystem Restoration: Encounters that deepen our understanding of soil and landscape.
- Leadership of Peasant and Indigenous Women: Key roles in building a sustainable future.
Additionally, there will be moments of celebration, connection with nature, and ancestral practices reminding us of the importance of living within planetary boundaries with joy and hope.
